Does anyone ever notice how when we do something we shouldn't do, or say something that we shouldn't say, that it always seems to come back around full circle? Full circle as in, your back to the point where you wish you hadn't done it, wish you hadn't said it, and your searching desperately for a way to make it right and stop it from happening again. It happens to all of us in one form another, almost always on a daily basis at times.
What also happens, is that we sometimes (on purpose) look directly over the answer that lies right there in front of us. Instead of using the simple, easy freeway exit, we would rather continue our endless circle around the loop of failure. Why is it that even when we know Gods answer to our question, his solution to our dilemma, that we continue on with our own solution only to find that it was obviously wrong (which we knew to begin with!). Its pretty easy to say that we are a self absorbed, selfish collection of people when you resort to trusting your own advice instead of advice given from the Lord of all creation.
Common sense is very uncommon.
I suppose I am done rambling for now, because I really need to study for a test. So instead of doing what I want to do which is keep typing, I will listen to God and go study!
Until next time!

Someone certainly crawled out of the right side of the bed today, and it was me. Why you might ask? Well why not?!
Because its raining? It just so happens that I love the rain, because of the way it cleanses the earth and washes old things away to make things new.
Because I don't have tons of money to go out and waste? Money is nice, but I've come to find that sometimes the more things you have on this earth, the more problems you have.
Because things in the world aren't the way I want them? If you have everything in life that you want, whats left to strive for? More importantly, whats left to hope for?
To some it may sound as though I have been harping a lot lately, complaining about people who complain all the time. Maybe so, but I give no apologies. I have spent so much time in my life listening to people ruin the gift of life that we have been given, by tainting it with selfishness and self inflicted sorrow, that I spent much of my own time agreeing with them. Using my own self pity to drown out the joy that we have here in our hearts, and in our lives. Those were times in my past that even though I wish to erase, I am glad they happened. Because with every trial we face, we grow stronger.
I'm thankful for all the things I have, and all the things yet to come in my life, no matter how big or small they may be. I am thankful for my life, because every breath that we draw is a gift and a blessing. I love my friends and family, for outside of God they are where I draw my strength.
I hope everybody just takes time out today (and each day), to give thanks for what they have, even if they consider to be very little. Because sometimes being thankful for the little things, opens the door to bigger things.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven."
"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth."
Matthew 5:3-10
Now comes the weekend, and time for everyone to enjoy each others company. The SUPERBOWL is this Sunday, and I know everyone (myself included) can't wait. Just make sure you get off your behinds and make it out to church and give thanks for the TV that you watch the game on, and the food, friends, and your house, which God gave you. (Even though you may think you earned all of this yourself)
Have a great weekend everyone!

What is it that people are looking for in their daily lives? This thought popped into my mind as I sit here on campus today, listening to people talk as they pass by me in the lobby, stopping to talk a moment amongst themselves. You would think that you might hear people talking about class, or ballgames, or other hobbies. However, I noticed that so many people were quite frankly complaining about everything under the sun. Today, within 45 minutes I heard all of the following statements:
"I don't know how I can continue coming to school, its taking up a bunch of my time. I'm only able to go out to cue time (billiards) twice a week. "
"My Envoy already has 70,000 miles and the right window ain't working. Its a piece of junk."
"I wish my husband made more money. It sucks going to school and not having a laptop and stuff like some of these younger kids."
" My parents are mad because I failed two classes last semester, and they cut my spending money on my visa card. I haven't bought any shoes in a month."
Really? With all of the things going on in the world, people still find time to place these things at the forefront of their lives. I'm not perfect, none of us are. We are all going to complain about things from time to time, because its our human nature. The difference is, for those of us claiming to be Christians, we should immediately recognize the selfishness of our human nature. Immediately think of all the things in our lives that God provides that we take for granted, smile and move on. As Matthew 6:31-33 says:
So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31-33
As it says in the scripture, there is nothing wrong with having these things, when they are received in the proper order. I realize that I have spent much of my life chasing everything that matters least in this world. I have chased and captured money, only to squander it on stupid things. I have chased a career, moving my way up a ladder only to have it fall out from under me. I have created my own "Gods" in the form of earthly possessions. I realize that if I had spent even half the time following the Bible, I would have received all of these blessings twice as fast with less failure.
I for one am glad to know that unlike the police, God doesn't mind U-turns. If you find yourself headed down that street the wrong way, just turn it around. :)
Now its time to do some class work. See you guys tomorrow.

Greetings to anyone reading this post! As you can see by the title, this is my very first blog post (Hopefully the first of many). Its 1:15 in the morning, so this one will be short and sweet! I will begin my daily blog postings later today! I appreciate any of you that are taking the time to come here and see my thoughts. I hope everyone has a blessed day!
